Magic, Mystery, and Mayhem
Welcome. I had thought of a hundred ways to begin this: a pun, a poetic gesture, a curious statement of transcendental philosophy... Each had merit but time and characters are precious commodities these days, so it's probably best I be frank.
I’m a Magician. My forte: Card Hustler – Producing impromptu magic tricks with an army of fifty-two. I love card magic because it is practical, up-close, and personal. After a performance, I’m often asked how I got started. Being the mischievous and rebellious teenager of my family, magic turned out to be more a necessity than a call for entertainment.
Police Officer: “Son, is that marijuana you just stashed in your pocket?”
Me: “Absolutely not. Unless you’re referring to the marijuana behind your ear… TADA!”
Boy that was a fun day.
But in all seriousness, I suppose magic did hold some entertainment value. The art of magic was a good fit for my personality—my natural curiosity for psychology and the inherent rewards for careful practice held my attention for hours at a time.
My goal with this site is to try and share my love of magic with everyone. Here you can watch videos of my magic tricks and also check out great resources that will teach you how to perform, if you have an interest to learn magic as well. I have a blog where I post my thoughts, experiences, and advice about magic. I also feature a section on other magicians and magic sites, so you can explore what others are doing with this amazing art-form.
Professionally performing illusions in these last few years has been a pleasure, and also an honor to share my skills and talents with strangers. Nevertheless, I am extremely proud to introduce my recent project of 2012: the creation of a website with a purpose to bring magicians together allow them to display and share their amazing talents over the internet.
The Ten Theories of Magic Online Tournament is a place where magicians and illusionists around the world can share personal videos demonstrating their skillful abilities, all while having fun and winning prizes as they do. Don’t forget to check it out to learn more about the Ten Theories and watch mind-blowing videos demonstrating these magical principles.
In closing, I’ll leave you with an interesting astrological correlation with a deck of cards:
There are 52 cards in a deck, and 52 weeks in a year. Just as there are four suites in a deck, there are four seasons in a year. There are 13 values in each suite, and 13 lunar cycles in each year.
To elaborate on the commonly used colloquialism “It's just the hand I was dealt”: Life is exactly like a game of cards. The hand you are dealt is determinism; the way you play it is free will.
Enjoy the site :)
